- Candy may lose consistency if overheated or due to humidity; to correct, add 1 ½ teaspoons of vegetable shortening per 8 oz.
- Candy can melt in warmer temperatures; to melt, microwave at 50% power or defrost setting in intervals, stirring until smooth
- Double boiler can also be used for melting
- Note: Never add liquids to candy; if too thick, add 2 teaspoons vegetable shortening per 12 oz. or Wilton EZ Thin™ Dipping Aid
