DMT (Diamond Machining Technology) Double Sided Diafold Sharpener - Coarse
The Dia-Fold Diamond Whetstone is a product that has received mixed reviews. One customer reported that they purchased four as Christmas gifts and that they have received positive feedback from the recipients. Another customer mentioned that their diamond whetstone had a chip and a broken piece of plastic upon opening the packaging. However, they still use it with caution. Other customers praised the product for being excellent for sharpening different types of knives; they advised that it takes some practice to use, though. One customer mentioned that the product worked very fast and efficiently. Another customer stated that the product worked well initially but felt like there was no "grit" left after using it for a few months. They later discovered that the product was not the same thickness as the Diafolds that come with the magna-align kit and sharpened at a different angle. They identified this fault as an oversight on the part of DMT and advised that a 0.050" spacer would have to be glued to the non-sharpening side to correct this. One customer mentioned that the product was convenient for sharpening their knives while on the go. Overall, the Dia-Fold Diamond Whetstone is a decent product for sharpening knives. However, customers can experience some problems with a chip and broken plastic, grit wearing out, and the product sharpening at different angles from the Diafolds that come in the magna-align kit.
