Digital Clamp Meter AC/DC Auto-Ranging 600 Amp Measures Voltage, Resistance, Temp, More Klein Tools CL800,Black/Orange

The Digital Clamp Meter ACDC Auto-Ranging 600 Amp by Klein Tools (model CL800) offers a wide range of measurement capabilities including voltage, resistance, and temperature. The device is easy to use and comfortable to hold, although users are advised to read the manual to fully understand all the settings options. One aspect that customers have noted is that the supplied thermocouple is only rated up to 180°C, despite the meter supporting higher temperatures. Users have found that the readings from the Klein meter were Consistently 1 to 1.5°C higher than their calibrated thermometer. However, the meter can still be used for temperature measurements when no other device is available. The meter defaults to displaying temperatures in Fahrenheit, but this can be changed to Celsius. The display backlight is bright and clear, although the LED work light is somewhat dim. Some users have found themselves relying on the backlight frequently due to small iCons on the display. A minor drawback is that the meter only comes with probe leads, and users would have appreciated the inclusion of hooked and crocodile clip attachments. The lack of a magnetic hanger is also mentioned as a missed opportunity. Another area where customers feel that Klein Tools cut corners is with the included case. The case lacks partitioning or mesh separators, making it less organized and less protective than desired. Many users have chosen to forego the supplied case and simply wrap the leads around the meter for storage. The user manual, while usable, could benefit from better printing quality. It is recommended to download the online PDF version for easier reading. Overall, despite the mentioned shortcomings, customers view the Digital Clamp Meter ACDC Auto-Ranging 600 Amp as an excellent value for a Cat4 TRMS Clamp meter capable of both AC and DC ampere readings. If users focus on the core strengths of the device, they can overlook the minor issues.
